About The Project
The Dear Legislator Project started in 2011 as a way to connect people with developmental disabilities and their advocates with their local legislators via video postcards and other media. Dear Legislator is an initiative of Independence Northwest, a Portland area support services brokerage.

What a terrific and innovative way for people to get their stories out! Independence Northwest deserves to be congratulated for trailblazing this approach, which I’m sure many of us will be emulating in the future.
As a disability community we have never faced such heart-rending cuts in services essential to peoples lives. I encourage everyone with services at risk to join in this effort.
